New Officers Named for North Florida Marketing Group

Jacksonville, FL (September 17, 2009) — The North Florida Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) has elected a new slate of officers to serve in fiscal year 2009-2010.

The new officers include:
Emily Carrier, TLC Engineering for Architecture, Inc. — President
Shari Schurr, Clary & Associates, Inc. — President Elect
Rebecca Ryan-Gonzalez, Rink Design Partnership, Inc. — Treasurer
Kira Hettinger, Batson-Cook Company — Secretary

Board committee chairpersons were also appointed, including Lisa Haggerty, MacDonald-Bedford, LLC; Tabitha Collins, Elkins Constructors, Inc. (Program Chair); Cary Smith, Fred Wilson & Associates, Inc. (Education and Training Chair); Jamie Stankewicz, Golder Associates, Inc. (At-Large, Public Relations Chair); Jerrica Russell, Pond & Company (Communications Chair); Bonnie Faircloth, JSA Architects and Barbara McKinney, Ellis & Associates, Inc. (Membership Co-Chairs); Raquel Crummitt, National Premium, Inc. At-Large, Special Events Chair); Kim Jowers, TLC Engineering for Architecture (At-Large, Sponsorship Chair); and Gwen Powell Todd, Strategic Partnering (At-Large, Delegate).

SMPS was created in 1973 by a small group of leaders from professional services firms who recognized the need to sharpen skills, pool resources, and work together to create business opportunities. Today, SMPS represents a network of nearly 7,000 marketing and business development professionals from architectural, engineering, planning, interior design, construction, and specialty consulting firms located throughout the United States and Canada.

The Society and its 53 chapters benefit from the support of 3,250 design and building firms, encompassing 80 percent of the Engineering News-Record’s Top 500 Design Firms and Top 400 Contractors.
